Oh boy, I have still got a long way to go until I reach 50 illustrations in my Etsy store, but it feels like I’m really starting to look like a real shop!

For the first two weeks, my items had been found using search terms on Etsy only once. This week, the number of times my items were found through search increased to 3, and are up to 8 or 9 at the time of this writing. Unfortunately, these searches didn’t lead to any sales, but it is great to see how adding more drawings really is having an effect on how often I get found in search.

Dogs

I love dogs! I started with two of my favorite breeds, Border Collies and Pomeranians. I am definitely planning on adding more breeds of dogs, but I’m trying to figure out the best poses to draw them in. The Pomeranian illustration was quite challenging to get right, so instead of multiple poses, I included two colors.

The Border Collie is a working breed, so it was a bit easier for me to determine the “classic” poses.

Bunny with Carrots

The bunny is my first attempt at a completely imagination-based character. I am not completely happy with the result, but I think that I have to start somewhere in order to develop more characters. I have still included it in the Etsy store, in the hopes that other folks might like it more than I do!

Birds

I also love birds. This bird set includes common birds that I grew up seeing in our yard in Massachusetts, such as the black-capped chickadee and the cardinal. Goldfinches were much more rare in our area, but I did see them once or twice and I was so excited about it as a kid! Honestly, I’m still excited when I see a goldfinch today!

Special Delivery

I had the idea to create a set of birthday illustrations, such as a set of balloons, a set of presents, etc. Instead, I ended up creating this “special delivery” illustration, which I really love! It also comes in pink, baby blue, green and purple for use in baby announcements or baby shower invitations.
